A lot of new media is happening in a space that is as much technologically innovative as well as intellectually creative (think early photography and daguerreotypes). Many of the new jobs, new tools, and new media outlets happen in a virtual space and use a common tool set. Mr. Barcus will prepare for this presentation about using Oracle’s VirtualBox virtualization product to install a linux distro (both free for use) on a home computer for the purpose of experiencing and learning linux first hand. Mr. Barcus is a second-year presenter whose Lecture Hall will take place in the Computer Lab.
